Oak Desk Chair Plans – It appears the rustic cabin and lodge look decorating motif has gained much popularity these days. Picture yourself here: A rustic log home, standing amongst the pine trees, so it’s steep metal roof dripping with dew from the morning’s crisp air, a swirl of smoke spiraling up from the chimney, the birds chirping in the trees, the morning sun rising over the distant hill. A small breeze blowing, just enough to put the wind chimes to a soothing soothing motion. You’re sitting in your comfy chair, gazing out upon this royal beauty, a crackling fire dance in the stone fireplace, you’re sipping a steaming mug of hot cocoa, the golden honey tones of your log home, giving you a sense of warmth, calmness, tranquility and comfort.
For those of us that are lucky enough to live this life, there is no better feeling. For all those of you who merely dream this lifestyle, there is hope. You do not have to reside in a subtropical forest or nestled alongside a remote lake to provide the interior of your home a warm cabin feeling. Not only are we visiting log houses becoming increasingly more popular, we’re also seeing more and more modern homes decorating with the cabin décor theme. There is NOT just one perfect decorating style for a home. Your personality needs to be anything makes you feel comfy and protected. You want somewhere to unwind, a cozy hang-out, a place where you can feel at ease. Carefully think about your lifestyle and customs, as this may play a fantastic part in your decorating theme. Incorporate what you enjoy in your own decorating.
Do you long to your comfy cabin feeling throughout your home, or can you just need a couple of rooms which reflect that rustic cabin appeal? There is 1 thing that plays a major part in the rustic cabin feel, this thing being timber. Oh, the pleasure of timber! Bringing Mother Nature’s beauty in your home. There is an abundant range of beautiful timber items to select from, some of the most commonly used for interior decorating include: Pine, aspen, maple, hickory, alder, cherry, oak, weathered barn wood and red cedar. Wood flooring can create that country feeling, wood countertops and timber walls add warmth and coziness to your home. And then, we’ve got the accessories and furniture, coffee tables, end tables, dressers, dining room tables and chairs, desks, kitchen cabinetry, log beds, rustic rocking chairs, and the list goes on and on.
Other important aspects of cabin/lodge decorating are color, texture, and light. Adding color and texture is vital. I’ve discovered that there are no bounds here. I have not found a shade that doesn’t compliment the woodsy environment in a log home. Anything goes, from the pale hues of sage green, buttery yellows and powder blues to the stunning forest greens, rich purples, and deep reds. Accentuate your home with colors you love. Add braided area rugs to the floor, lay Indian blankets across the backs of furniture. Contain rustic touches by adding colorful plush pillows. Collect a spoonful of pine cones and match your wicker baskets. Strategically place pottery on tables and also alongside furniture.
Place brilliant colored placemats on the dining room table. Add handcrafted items throughout your home. Scour estate sales and garage sales for antiques and things from previous eras. Think beyond framed artwork to decorate your walls, anything on the walls can be a captivating display. I’ve a seven-foot aspen log onto my bedroom wall over my headboard. I peeled, sanded, finished it with a non gloss varnish and then added some greenery and pine cones. It looks remarkable. Carpets and window coverings can also help to enhance the lodge feeling and can be handmade in a fraction of the price if you own your own sewing machine.
